I’m Hebe, and it’s my passion to make yoga more accessible.
I completed my 200 hours yoga teacher training in November 2018 after a ‘what am I going to do with my life moment’. I’d recently graduated university and was bouncing around not knowing what to do with my future. So I chose to spend a month of my life in a remote corner of India, at Govardhan Eco Village, following a passion of mine that I never thought I’d ever have to confidence to pursue.
Prior to leaving, I’d been practicing yoga for years alongside my mum who, without me realising was teaching me basic element of pranayama when I was stressed, and gentle flow sequences to help my movement at times when I needed it most. When I moved to London, I found the yoga scene a little overwhelming and always had a sense that I never really fit in. I wasn’t wearing the right clothes, wasn’t slim enough, tall enough or bendy enough. My time in India taught me more than anything that yoga isn’t about any of that. It doesn’t care what you look like, or how flexible you are. Turning up on the mat and committing to your practice with an open heart is, at the end of the day, all yoga really cares about.
